MANAGING AND TREATING PELVIC FLOOR CONDITIONS

If you’re experiencing bladder leaks when you laugh, sneeze, cough, or exercise, you’re not alone. One in three women suffer from urinary incontinence, or involuntary bladder leakage. Childbirth is one of the main causes of pelvic floor disorders and a woman's risk tends to increase the more times she has given birth. Other causes include pregnancy, menopause, aging, weight gain, and hormonal changes.

Eastside's urogynecologists are specialists who have completed extra training in both gynecology and urology. They are experienced in diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions affecting the bladder and female pelvic floor, including incontinence (both stress and urge), pelvic organ prolapse, interstitial cystitis, and urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Common symptoms of pelvic floor disorders:

  • Heaviness, fullness, pulling, or aching in the vagina
  • Urgency, frequency, or difficulty in emptying bladder
  • Frequent UTIs

Whatever your challenge or discomfort may be, our compassionate physicians are here to help you find relief. We offer non-invasive and minimally-invasive treatments for continence issues, as well as surgical options for more severe conditions to restore support to the pelvic organs.

Urogynecologic tests and treatments:

  • Urodynamic testing
  • Cystometrogram (CMG)
  • Pelvic floor therapies
  • Repair of pelvic organ prolapse, including repair of cystocele, rectocele, uterine prolapse, vaginal prolapse, and urinary incontinence
  • FemTouch
  • Prescription medications
  • InterStim
  • Neuromodulation
  • Laparoscopic and daVinci robotic surgery
